The breeding season started! See above a striking landing at the Tampa Bay Spoonbills rookery. The birds love to land in the shallow waters in front of the rookery. Shooting while wading in the water is the best way to get the good angles.

Many birds fly by from one clump of mangrove trees to another. Above is a low fly by with the top of the mangrove trees as backdrop. Note that having elements of the background in a flight shot (other than clear sky) is a good way to anchor the image and give a sense of orientation.
