What a nice family portrait above! It can be quite tricky to have all birds with a good head angle and all line up so that everybody is in focus, but when it happens: wow!!

Adult Least Terns keep on bringing back small fish to feed their young. The image above is an adult flying low with the treasured meal in the beak.

And here is another chick coming to be fed by one of the parents. The trick here is to wait to have both birds exactly parallel to you so they are both on the same field of focus. The Least Terns were best seen during the afternoons, making it a perfect complement to the morning sessions with the Black Skimmers.
