Reddish Egrets at Fort Desoto

Many of my early images of Reddish Egrets were created at Fort Desoto Park, the location for the Wading birds and Shorebirds photo tour in November 16th-17th 2024. Send me an email to book your spot => steven@stevenbirdphotography.com

There are a couple of hidden spots where the Reddish Egret is most often seen at Fort Desoto Park. The image above is from an hidden cove, where the bird is happily dancing in search of fish. Reddish Egrets are known for their spectacular hunting stunts.

One of my most iconic Reddish Egret image! While the bird looks angry at me, it is actually just fluffing its feathers after a short preening session. Nothing abnormal… Yet, this image has such a strong impact 🙂

Another true stunner! This is the super rare White morph Reddish Egret, with full breeding colors on as a mega bonus. Every now and then, one gets to see the White morph making an appearance at Fort Desoto. Do you want a chance at creating Reddish Egret images? Join me at the November 16th-17th photography tour!!!

I am interested in your Reddish Egret tour. I have a Canon 100-500 with a 1.4 extender. Would that focal length be sufficient? What hours will the workshop be. What does the tuition include
