2026 Dates For The East Florida Fishing Ospreys & Spoonbills Tour

The 2026 dates for the East Florida Fishing Ospreys & Spoonbills mix Tour will be Mar 21-22 and Apr 18-19. The March session will include an airboat outing to photograph Ospreys fishing in the shallow ponds around Blue Cypress Lake, while the April session will have an outing to the ocean fishing jetty instead. When properly timed with the fishing tides, the fishing jetty close to Vero Beach can be down right exceptional! Check out the stunner above. Who would not want to create such an image? The airboat option will give us the opportunity to create images of the exact same moment with lake water preys instead.

With more than 500 nests around the lake, you will see many birds coming back with freshly caught fish. This creates many opportunities for flying shots with talents holding fish as the parents bring back food for either their partner or younglings.

With so many nests to chose from, the April session is likely to have many chicks out in the open. Since there are many nests at eye level with the pontoon boat, one can have a direct view of some nests and their activity.

Another successful catch at the Ocean fishing jetty. It can be quite interesting to observe the diversity of preys the Ospreys are actually able to dig out of the ocean. I might have to start learning to identify fish as well… 🙂
